As you know, kreislerart is a digital gallery that does physical exhibitions from time to time, and this September we are delighted to have an exhibition of works by the painter Maria Luisa de Mendoza at the Kreisler Gallery in Madrid.

I got to know Maria Luisa’s work several years ago and I loved her characteristic artistic language. Her paintings are always immediately recognizable, which is a great attribute for any artist. Maria Luisa has created her own language.

With “Dormant Architectures” Maria Lusa surrounds us with urban landscapes of metaphysical poetics that speak of silence, of stopped time, of that feeling that is born from the dreams of dream worlds, stripping cities to make them sleep.

Maria Luisa manages to take us through catwalks to infinity suspended in disturbing atmospheres and above them we find lighthouses that illuminate and break that silence; naked towers, devoid of all ornament, vaporous smoke that advances as the only moving element, wandering characters who walk in search of something new.

Something that may not exist, and that represents the daring to go out bravely to explore and experiment while making us feel comfortable in these architectures she creates. I never get tired of looking at her work and creating stories in her walls and lighthouses. I hope you enjoy them as much too.

You will be welcomed  at the Kreisler Gallery in Hermosilla 8, Madrid
